Tampopo Restaurant: Where Authentic Ramen and Sushi Come Together

I used to come here all the time with my parents and siblings, but forgot out this place. My fiance and I actually came to Tozai plaza to go to the sushi place next door (one of our faves), but as we were walking up-- noticed their health score was a "B". We turned around and I asked him if we could have lunch here at Tampopo. Everything was great. The sushi was fresh, the hot rolls came out HOT and not overcooked. The servers were attentive. There wasn't too many people inside, it was about half full on a Wednesday afternoon. We enjoyed all of the food we ordered. Everything was tasty. I would recommend this place for family/friends to come to.

I had to get sushi just cuz. lol. I wanted to try their Japanese burrito that had no rice. I thought that was interesting and it was good! Now I have an option for low carb sushi type. lol The amount of food you get for the price is reasonable. I wasn't even able to finish all of it.

A really good sushi spot where majority of their sushi is on a 50% off deal! Parking is somewhat difficult as it is a packed plaza, inside dining is small but many spaces to sit. I ordered to go and the servers were very nice! Their sushi is always great and the quality is pretty good, many many different options to choose from when it comes to the sushi but I recommend items from the crunch/tempura section! One thing to add is if you are looking at the menu online make sure you are looking at the right location as both locations have different options!

The food here in this place is surprisingly good and it is very affordable. Not only that, it is very fulfilling and makes you exquisitely stuffed for its prices. I had me a Hungry Roll, Hot Night Roll, and Kake Udon because I do like a combo of sushi and udon to eat. The service is great, the waiters were attentive to me and my mother as well as refilling my water without me asking so kudos for that. The ambiance is just normal and nothing sticks out so I will leave it at that.

tl,dr: nice place for some interesting Japanese food. Likes: + I like that they offer a variety of Japanese food, from sashimi to bento boxes to ramen. + My friends' bento boxes came out quite tantalizing. Variety of ingredients in every order, from various proteins to macaroni salads, to rolls, and the rice. + Polite, helpful staff. Non-likes: - The ramen comes out slow. After the sashimi and the bento boxes orders were brought out, we had to wait about 5-10 more mins for the one ramen order to come out. - Their ramen bowl gives only a few pork slices compared to the amount of noodles you get. My total for one sashimi order and one ramen order came out to $34.

Have not been at this restaurant for a while. Lots of servers. Arrived at 3:00 pm so the restaurant was not too busy. Order the salmon roll and tuna roll, misso soup and a Sapporo beer. They use other names but it's tuna and salmon rolls. The sushi tasted good and the service was fast and overall i didn't wait long to get my food. Tue soup was good, how can you go wrong with soup. Overall, I recommend this business to anyone It is clean and the experience and food were good. The only problem that I was not happy with I felt pushed, hurried, it's like I could not enjoy my food because they kept asking me if everything was all right. But I wanted to take my time and enjoy my food and without having the constant harassment. It was just me, so look at the last last picture The place was not too busy. Life is not perfect and I don't expect perfection But let me Enjoy the food please, I am not going to run away Or walk out of the restaurant without paying. This is the second sushi restaurant in the area that they seem to want your business but They want you to munch on it quick and get out That's all Thanks for reading

Eating at Tampopo feels like a blast from the past because I remember coming here all the time with my brother and dad on weekends. It's been about 6 years since I've been back, but it's good to see that nothing has changed drastically about the restaurant. Most of the menu items haven't changed very much either. The food is still delicious and a great bang for your buck. My favorite is the chicken teriyaki bento. I opted to try the spicy version of it this time and I was surprised by how much heat this chicken was packing. I would give it a level 2 out of 10 in terms of spiciness. My bento came with 2 pieces of nigiri as well and the fish to rice ratio was impressive! The pieces of fish were very generous. As for service, it was pretty quick. I came on a week day during lunch and we were able to get seated right away. Overall, the food is decent and the prices are good. There's nothing special about it and there's nothing short of other great Japanese restaurants in the area. Would I come back? Maybe in a few years.

Personally, I find the combo of Sushi and Ramen a bit amusing, but hey if it works, it works. It's been some time since we last ate here and we couldn't remember what we liked so we stayed on the appetizer and sushi part of the menu. The wait staff were quick and friendly. The place was full and they were certainly kept busy! We ordered: Strawberry Nigori. We normally order the regular Nigori but were intrigued. The taste is a bit difficult to describe. Strangely savory yet sweet. You can definitely taste the strawberry. This is on the "order again" list. Sashimi salad. It's HUGE! Definitely more than enough to share. Glad we share everything we ordered. Simple and satisfying. Spicy tuna roll. The flavor was good and it was spicy! My only complaint was that the roll kept falling apart. I'm not sure if we will order this again. Grilled yellowtail collar. It needed salt. Otherwise the texture was fine. We may try this again. Tempura. This was the favorite of everything we ate. Well seasoned and fried perfectly. Shrimp fried rice. This also lacked salt. While it looked good, it lacked in flavor. This is another maybe. Try it! Enjoy!
